Electrical testing is important! By law, and in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, you are obliged to “take precautions against risk of death or personal injury from electricity” for anyone on your premises. Neglecting faulty electrical installations could result in injuries to employees, lost income and fines for organizations that ignore their statutory responsibilities.
As well as the electrical testing of fixed equipment (cables, sockets, lights, etc) there is testing of PAT (Portable Appliance Testing). Simply put, if it has a plug it will require a PAT test.
PAT testing is a requirement for all types of installation whether industrial, commercial or domestic. Here at Kingsmill Electrical Services we can help you maintain a planned programme of electrical inspection and testing to help you maintain the safety and effectiveness of your work premises.
All of our electricians are BS7671 and we only employ fully qualified British trained electricians and engineers.
These are the usual electrical tests we perform:
Visual inspection of the installation. |
Continuity of (cpc) & Earth conductors. |
Continuity of the ring circuits. |
Polarity. |
Insulation resistance of conductors. |
